We had a really great time last night at the Portland Twitter Users Group TweetUp at The Backstage Bar in Southeast Portland. It was our first @PDXTUG TweetUp.
I’ve participated in many software and hardware “Users Groups” over the years and thought it would be fun to create one for Twitter users in Portland. Using Meetup.com as a platform made scheduling and hosting the event simple and easy. All that I had to do was spread the word.
I then created a Twitter account for the group, and had a professional background made for the page. @TweeterGraphix donated the design work.
You can do the same thing in your area. Getting to meet and know people in person is a lot of fun, and I really enjoy getting out from behind my computer to interact in the real world as often as I can.
Last night we had a great bunch of folks. Check out their Twitter pages; follow them; and get to know them. I know there were more people than I have listed below, but I couldn’t find you on Twitter, so if you were there, and you want me to add you to this post, please let me know.

What a great idea a Twitter users group, I will try and get one going over here in Galway, Ireland.
I was in Portland about 10 years ago and went on the Oregan trail, beautiful place.
Cheers
Mike
Thank you, Mike! Yes, we love our group!
