For the many thousands of hours that I’ve invested into the building and maintenance of my social media presence I can say that all of them have been worth the time and effort expended.

You may have experienced or at least heard of Klout.com, a site that claims to rank people’s social media influence. I was a late adopter on Klout. It took me a good long while to be convinced that what Klout was measuring was important, and that the score was relevant, and it WAS.

Recently Klout changed how it measures influence, and I am not impressed with the alleged improvement. It’s now safe to ignore Klout. I’ve taken my Klout badges off of my blogs. No one’s Klout scores mean anything any more.

Enjoy the funny video of a man attempting to explain Klout to his boss:

Facebook: an Essential Social Media Tool to Engage and Maintain an Audience

Authors often set out to write for love of the language and the catharsis of self-expression.
